Charles M. Cronin
Founding Principal
Charles M. Cronin (Chuck) founded Axiom Capital 19 years ago. "Chuck" has been involved in the structuring of more than $6 billion in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) financing over the past 25 years. He has also been involved in more than $5 billion of whole loan portfolio evaluations, purchases and sales. During this time he has earned the trust and respect of both Owners/Developers the firm represents as well as the top executives of the major capital providers to the industry.

As the former head of a NASDQ publicly traded FDIC insured bank Chuck brings a unique insider's understanding of the lending industry. He has nurtured creative solutions for consummating loan transactions and fostering equity ventures. His tenacity and "hands-on" problem solving approach has earned Axiom Capital its reputation as one of the leaders in commercial real estate financing today.

Chuck sets the strategic direction for the firm and the tone is EXCELLENCE in EXECUTION through DILIGENCE , INNOVATION , and simple HARD WORK. Chuck’s tenacity and creativity combined with his knowledge of CRE finance and a financial institutions regulatory and balance sheet issues have helped Axiom close many win –win financings that may never have happened. Chuck’s broad knowledge and understand along with his ability to clarify issues simply for each side of a transaction is unique and part of the reason Axiom has a constant pipeline of quality repeat client business.

Prior to founding Axiom Capital, Chuck served as President of Albany's National Savings Bank (NSBA) , a public company traded on NASDAQ. As president, he directed National's overall operations including asset liability management, mergers and acquisitions, security market sales and regulatory and rating agency compliance. During his tenure, the bank increased in size from $350 million to just under $1 billion in assets. ROA increased from .33% to 1.25%. ROE increased from 4% to 16.5% and non performing loans declined from 4% to .71%. In February of 1993, he guided the sale of NSBA to KEY Corp.

Chuck is an avid supporter of the game of rugby and played routinely until 3 years ago. He also works with his wife Monika in many Equine care and rescue efforts. He enjoys raising horses and being the weekend laborer building their Saratoga Springs horse farm. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Siena College.
Andrew Kleinberg
Partner
Andrew Kleinberg joined Axiom Capital as Partner continuing his long successful 25 plus year career in commercial real estate finance. He is based in the New York City / NJ metropolitan area. Andy is responsible for commercial mortgage and equity origination and placement, sale and commercial real estate advisory. Throughout his career Andy has closed more than $ 3.5 billion in commercial mortgage financings. He brings commercial owners/investors a unique set of skills as he has been a lender for more than 20 years. In this capacity he has developed many long standing relationships with owners and developers who rely on his expertise and knowledge. Equally important he is extremely well respected within commercial real estate lender circles. The trust his former peers have in Andy helps to expedite and optimize his clients financing request.

Prior to joining Axiom, Andy spent eight years with UBS Investment Bank as an Executive Director within the commercial real estate group where he was responsible for originating, structuring, and closing commercial fixed rate and bridge loans. He spent three years with CIBC World Markets as Executive Director where he was the regional head of originations, responsible for originating and structuring commercial fixed rate, bridge and construction loans. In addition, Andy spent six years as a Director for AIG Mortgage Finance Company Inc., responsible for all originations and underwriting for the Northeast and Southeast regions. Over his lending career, Andy has closed in excess of $3.5 billion in loans on all property types. Prior to becoming a senior lender Andy was Manager for the Real Estate Portfolio Services Group of Arthur Andersen, Vice President for Pearce, Mayer & Greer, a national mortgage brokerage firm, and Vice President of Integrated Resources Inc. Real Estate Finance Group. Before joining Axiom, Andy worked with the Axiom team in his various lending positions for more than 18 years. Mr. Kleinberg holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Colorado. He has his Series 7 and 64 certificates.
Robert Engels
Director - Underwriting
Robert Engels joined Axiom Capital in early 2004 as part of the Loan Finance department. In May of 2004 he was hired as a full time analyst and it is in this position that he works as part of the underwriting team, assisting in all aspects of commercial real estate underwriting and loan administration. To date he has been involved in the underwriting and closing functions of $90 million of commercial real estate financings. Mr. Engels holds a Bachelor's of Science in Finance from Siena College. At Siena Mr. Engels played wing on the rugby team and held the position of the team treasurer.
David Lewis
Director - Loan Administration
David Lewis joined Axiom Capital in 2002 as part of the Loan Administration team. As the Director of Loan Administration, Mr. Lewis coordinates all facets of the closing process including third party reports, insurance, and other due diligence items. Before joining Axiom Capital, Mr. Lewis was the Supervisor of Loan Operations (Retail Banking) for Pioneer Savings bank in Troy, New York. Mr. Lewis holds a Bachelor's degree from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude.
Maureen Daley
Office Administrator
Maureen Daley joined Axiom Capital in 2009 as Assistant to the President and Office Administrator. She is the main contact person for all administrative operations for the Axiom Companies. Maureen is also responsible for corporate accounting and administrative support for the Property Management Division.

Before returning to the area and joining the Axiom team Ms. Daley had been living and working in south Florida since 1998. Her work experience includes banking, real estate and state government. In 1994 she attended Mildred Elley Business College to renew her business skills and proficiency as a Computer Software Specialist.
